Privacy policy
This policy explains what Iyan collects, why, and how you control it. Last updated: 2026-10-19.
What we collect
- Account data: email and name; your password is stored hashed, never in plain text.
- Preferences: fields, interests, country, city, language, brief time and voice.
- Reading signals: what you save or follow, glance swipes and dwell time, used to rank your feed. Linked to your account, never sold or shared.
- What you write: notes, watch terms and questions about developments.
- Notifications: the push subscription your browser issues if you turn notifications on.
How we use it
- To run the service: ranking your feed, your audio brief, alerts and files.
- We do not use personal data for ad targeting; ads are targeted by topic and country only.
- We never sell your data.
AI and service providers
We use Anthropic's Claude models to write headlines, summaries and translations, and to answer your questions about a development. Only published news text and your question are sent — not your email or notes. The service is hosted on Railway; notifications go through your browser's push service.
Your rights
- Access: download a copy of your data from Settings.
- Correction: edit your name and preferences at any time.
- Deletion: delete your account in Settings and its data is permanently removed.
- Reset learning: clear what your feed learned without deleting your account.
Retention
We keep your data while your account exists. Audio brief files are deleted after 14 days.
